About the PLAY Grant

This grant program is meant to provide additional opportunities or resources for youth activities related to hunting, fishing, conservation or the shooting sports, the hallmarks AGLOW. Without increased efforts to recruit, retain, and reactivate outdoor enthusiasts, the future of these endeavors may be in jeopardy. The mission of AGLOW with this grant is to help support those efforts that ensure the next generation of hunters, anglers, shooters, and conservationists.

Evaluation will be based on these criteria:

  • Financial need
  • Mission and reach
  • Alignment with AGLOW’s core principles of promoting outdoor sports and conservation

Examples of clubs or teams considered could be high school, 4-H, or independent fishing teams, trap teams, conservation clubs, archery teams and groups focused on habitat improvement for game or non-game species. This list is not exhaustive, and it is merely a representation of several examples that could be considered.

In order for an applying organization to be considered, it must meet the following criteria:

  • Membership should be primarily youths, under the age of 18
  • Be a hunting, angling, conservation or shooting club or state-sanctioned team
  • Demonstrate a financial or material need
  • Be able to provide a mission statement or document explaining the club or team’s mission

Teams must submit a 400 to 500-word essay explaining the impact of their club on the members and how the grant will help the club in their mission and complete the grant application.
